Scott M. Nielson is the President of Nielson Consulting LLC. Prior to founding Nielson Consulting, Mr. Nielson was an executive officer of Red Rock Resort, Inc. and its predecessors (including Station Casinos) for nearly 27 years, most recently serving as executive vice President and chief development officer. His duties included overseeing the company’s development activities, government affairs, regulatory compliance and public relations. Mr. Nielson’s prior positions at Station Casinos included executive vice president and chief legal officer and vice president, general counsel and secretary.

Prior to joining Station Casinos in 1991, Mr. Nielson was a partner in the law firm of Brownstein Hyatt Farber Schreck (formerly, Schreck, Jones, Bernhard, Woloson & Godfrey, Chartered) in Las Vegas, Nevada. While in private practice, he specialized in administrative law, practicing primarily in the areas of gaming law and land use planning and zoning.
Mr. Nielson is a member of the board of directors of the Southern Nevada Health District and previously served on the board of directors of the Las Vegas Convention and Visitors Authority and as the vice chairman of the Nevada Resort Association. He is a member of the American Bar Association, the Nevada State Bar and the Clark County Bar Association. Mr. Nielson is also active in numerous charitable organizations and is currently the chairman of the board of directors of the Opportunity Village Foundation, the chairman of the Las Vegas Victims’ Fund Committee, a member of the board of the Vegas Strong Fund and a member the board of the Las Vegas Chapter of the I Have a Dream Foundation.
Mr. Nielson is a 1980 Magna Cum Laude graduate of the University of Utah with a degree in Business Management and a 1983 graduate of the University of Utah College of Law. He is married and is the father of four children.
